Playsilk

A playsilk arrives unfinished on purpose. It has no fixed shape, no single use, no instructions, only whatever a child decides to make of it: a river one afternoon, a cape the next, a camp tent for two by evening. It is not a toy so much as an invitation, made to be whatever the heart desires, and then handed down once the child has outgrown the need to decide what it is.

Cut generously (110 x 180 cm) from OEKO-TEX® certified silk chiffon so fine (5 momme) it's light enough to catch on the smallest breath of wind & durable enough to survive being anything and everything, over and over again. 

Every playsilk arrives in a keepsake box, the Ad Rem crest pressed in silver on the lid and finished with a silver tassel pull. Perfect for storing your playsilk when not in use, or for hiding marbles, tiny feathers, buttons or seashells...or any other kind of important treasure.

CELADON: A light sea-foam green that can be either tranquil tropical island shallows or a misty morning grassy meadow

REVERIE: A crisp, sky blue perfect for cloud play

SHADOW: A dark smoky charcoal, (not quite black) evoking the night sky or deep space

ROSEWATER: Soft, petal pink, wholly inviting to faeries

FAUN: Perfect to recreate sand in small-world play; the desert awaits

SERPENTINE: The most magical chartreuse

SANGUINE: A deep, crimson, like the blossoming of a rose  

AD REM BLUE: Our signature blue. Like the deep of the ocean, and an ode to the revered lapis lazuli.
